Default heated seats not working

Tis the season. How do you check to see if the problem is with the seat heating element or the switch? I have an ohm meter but would like some description of how to properly use it to check this. I do not get along with electrical at all. I just can't grasp the concept.

I'll search for that after I get thru figuring out how to get that darn spring rod out of the reach motor. Its not in the motor its actually in the column. But I did check all the wire connections in the seat from the module to the heating pad. I got good continuity thru all of them even from the little bud on the cushion to the end of the heating coil., on both legs.

Hell Ill chime in. Ahh Thanksgiving, time to cook turkey and fix the wifes 2001 XJ8. So I checked the fuses and swapped the brown relays. Nada. All 4 seats arent heating. Switch lights are coming on.

So, hoping by bumping this thread, someone with more intelligence than I, will help us out.

I looked thru the owners manual and there is no fuse listed just for the seats. I guess I'll look thru the schematics on the other page to see where the connection goes to . But everything else is working so I do not think it is s fuse thing. From what I know, wwhich is not a lot, I think the heat comes from resistance in the wire that generates the heat. Right?
