How bad is your condensation?

As you can see from the photo, I have a bit of a condensation issue, so having read the 'stickie' thread on the subject though I had better do something about it.

Using a hairdryer, I removed the condensation, but revealed a lake in the headlight bowl. Using some micro-bore pipe, I removed the water, then set about it with the hairdryer again to remove all moisture

The final photo shows the finished result. I need to provide a more permanent solution by fitting a drain, but will also try silicone grease on the cover.

Wow tough job. It's a wonder that you didn't blow the white hot headlight every time you hit a bump!

We've had a lot of rain in the UK over the past few months but that's way beyond condensation. The seal between the shell (item 1) and the lens (item 2) must have failed.

Attachment 211291

Remove the headlamp and separate the lens from the shell by releasing the clips (arrowed in red). The lip (arrowed in blue) can then be sealed with silicone and the unit reasembled.

Another route for water entry is a loose access cover (item 3).

I think your diagnosis is correct. A couple of days later and the headlight is full of water again and I haven't even used the car. Looks like I shall be taking it apart to reseal it.
