Immobilizer ring built into key switch?

Digging around to try to figure out if the XK8 immobilizer ring is built into the key switch itself. Can't find anything else on the diagram that looks like a coil, so thinking that's the case. Can tear down the steering column but I've never done that on a car without breaking some random plastic tab that results in rattles... Can anyone confirm?

Wondering if the coil is inside of this:

The coil is a separate part, all you need to do is remove the shroud around the ignition switch to access it. I replaced mine about a year ago while trouble shooting a no start issue, wasn't the cause.
