Unable to put the top down for almost two years, have problems with the window passenger side, door become ajar while the vehicle on motion..Also the engine light on...

a friend on mine check the computer and told me that it needed replacement...So I took the vehicle home , today took it out of the garage and now everything is working ok..put the top down , no engine light on.....maybe the computer was out of place...had anybody report a similar incident...

 

Could you explain the "door become ajar while vehicle in motion"....what happened?
Also your friend that checked the computer and said it needed replacement.....what did he do? What error codes were there?

 

Early this year when I was still fighting the door latch assembly issues in my wife's 2006 XK8, the passenger door latch assembly opened itself and set off the dashboard warnings one morning while I was out for a test drive. I chalked it up to the infamous failing microswitches in the door latch assemblies, an issue that began intermittently last summer and was finally resolved when Wayne (cjd777) and I finally replaced those microswitches back in early February and early April of this year....
