Default License Plate

New owner of a 1997 XK8 convertible, still on the 30 day tags in Texas which requires a front plate. Is there a solution, other than not putting the front plate on, that I won't have to drill into the black bumpers to get a plate mounted?
Thanks,
Dennis

just moved mine ..you can probably see the two holes in the black bulbous things from the original mounting. Two aluminium strips bent to suit and two bolts well down undr the valance.

Thanks for the info. After reading some of the other posts on the forum, I think I will have bigger fish to fry with my XK8 in the future. So the plate will be mounted in the least obtrusive way.
Best to all,
Dennis

I recently purchased a 2003 XKR coupe (MD resident) and I am very interested in using a retracting frame for attaching the front tag without drilling holes in the vertical bumpers but haven’t been able to find one that works on the X100 (only the X150). I think I have read thru all the threads covering this topic and I’m still looking for a viable solution for the X100 other than simply going bare.
Help from anyone would be greatly appreciated as I refuse to ruin the front of this beauty!
Thanks
