Lights flicker and unstable charging voltage
My 2000 XKR are in winter storage, but I startet it yesterday to warm it up as I usually do a couple of times each winter.
When I opened the door, at idle, I discovered that the interior lights (on the floor) flickers.
Measured the charging voltage to be around 14V, but even on a slow digital multimeter I could see that it constantly changes from 13,8-14,1 V.
I assume that the fluctuation is even bigger.
The car has 107 k miles so it would not suprise me if the alternator is worned out.
And yes my battery is nearly new, is in perfect condition and was charged.
Is it possible to just change the alternator brushes? Has these voltage regulator built in to the alternator?
Or is the only option to by a new one?
Is the Denso DAN672 the correct one?

Are you taking your voltage readings at the battery?
Also, I would strongly advise against periodically starting the car unless you are actually taking it for a decent length drive. If you're just running it up to temperature without a drive you will very likely cause condensation in the oil.

Yes.
I got mine from David Manners (no affiliation) as they were quite happy to ship outside the UK (and drop the VAT). Was around €200 shipped.
SNG Barratt France also carries it. €246.90 (VAT included) or €1329.95 + €271.28 core charge if you want the identical part in a nice Jaguar box.

Possibly the regulator failing. Curious - are the symptoms anything like this?:

You can get to the slip ring brushes, and the regulator can be replaced (it has a separate part #). However, if it's original, I would look to replacing it as a unit. Be wary of 'remanufactured' items as many have the wrong regulator fitted causing a 'battery not charging' message
Yes.

Autodoc list the Denso alternator at €250 incl VAT and shipping to Norway, for that price I just order a new one and (hopefully) be done with it.
