If no seepage is visible from the top you need to look from the bottom. You have several hoses between the engine and the firewall that are hard to see from the top. If leakage is not identified you may want to get a compression check on all cylinders your suggestion of overheating and engine vibration along with the loss of coolant is a concern.

Default coolant leak

I found your old posting when I was researching a mysterious coolant leak in my wife's 2000 XK8. Your posting included a diagram with two hoses coming off the coolant cap and headed towards the passenger side. I can't remember which one, but I know that one of those is missing. What are those two hoses supposed to connect to? Thanks.

From the location it's probably overflowing from the Atmospheric Recovery Bottle in the inner wing behind the black wing liner.

When the coolant expands at engine operating temperature, the excess goes into the Atmospheric Recovery Bottle. As the engine cools, this is drawn back into the Expansion Tank.

If the top of the Atmospheric Recovery Bottle is loose or the pipes aren't secure, the coolant may be leaking onto the ground accounting for the gradual loss.

Please see my NEW POST; BOOM/MUCH SMOKE. My coolant tank separated all at once waiting for a traffic light. Blam smoke. The coolant went straight onto the exhaust/cat. Converter. It at first smelled like burnt wires. Then as it decreased the was the familiar SWEET-SMELL OF COOLANT. My car didn't come with an atmospheric resivoure (it was a retro fit from late 2000 on. Am adding that also. Found the coolant tank that exploded on ebay for $120.00, it came with a new cap, sensor and it was a re boxed factory Jag part. The atmospheric tank is hidden in location by the inner fenderwell. You have to remove the wheel/tire and the retainers for the the inner fenderwell. It retails for about $37.00 and NOTHING ELSE WILL FIT THERE!
Good luck
Wayne
