Awesome job, Matt!

that looks really nice. much tidier than just leaving it to flop around.

Well done, Matt.
I always admire such attention to detail.

thanks alot guys, I appreciate the comments! This being the first one of its kind, I'm already seeing improvements that I need to make.

First, the top two fastener points are getting the most stress, it needs more of a footprint to hold that top edge. The texas heat is making the vinyl soft and it wants to stretch at this point. Its not going anywhere, but its twisting also and appears the weak point. I will work on a 'wider' fastener head to replace that.

The second, that fold is bugging me, I need to figure out a way to keep the flap horizontal so it doesn't do that. Future designs should not even include any horizontal material, just take that net bungy all the way to the corner by the fastener and not have to worry about either of the above.

When I find a good alternative, I'll post up another pic with details. Again, thanks for the positive comments.

Bob, the growler is just a wheel center cap that I bought from Welsh for $15. I bought an extra red XKR one at the same time, thinking I would make another one, but I don't see that happening. Anyone want the ruby red growler for theirs?

How did you make your "homemade" cover? My original cover is missing and I would prefer not to spend the $90 to replace it.

You mean the "bag"? Bought some lightweight material, folded it my mom sewed the sides/edges, fastener on the open side. Done. :-)

That looks just brilliant and what a great forum - I now know the part numbers for those toggles that my cover is missing!

The finished job could be mistaken for standard jag trim, I'm certainly inspired to do the same.
