petrol..gas..mpg
I am obsessive in checking my MPG, I do it every time I fill up. When in town driving (stop & go traffic) I get anywhere between 19 to 21. You need to keep in mind the load on the engine can vary. This takes place when the A/C is on and the temp you are trying to maintain, Your headlights on or off, when on you have additional generator load. Your driving habits will make a difference; I (at times) am an aggressive driver. On the highway I get 24 to 28mpg. As strange as this might sound I will get 24mpg driving from MD to Northern VA, but when returning to MD I will get 26 to 28mpg. I contribute it to a downhill drive to MD. If I travel at night my MPG will be reduced and I contribute it to the additional electrical load. I should mention that 90% of my highway driving is with the cruise control in use.
Imagine your MPG if the A/C, Radio, lights, were off and you are driving on level ground with on obstructions and a tail wind to help you down the road.
Forgot to mention tires and tire pressure. It will alter your MPG

XKR 2001 53K miles I get avg 13mpg and 20mpg on a freeway run with avg speed of 75-80MPH.
And yes I have in the last 5K changed spark plugs, all O2 sensors and air/fuel filter + cleaned the throttle body. Never got better mileage even when this car had 25K miles. Guess XKR like their fuel!! and I do have a bit of a lead foot.

I seem to get better mileage going from North Carolina to Florida... I looked at the MAP and It's all downhill in my eyes as well... Wonder if I get a running start if I can coast all the way home???
