Default Plastic Timing Chain Tensioners...

Hi All,
I'm going to get my 1998 XK8 Jaguar plastic Timing Chain guides and tensioners replaced next week for $1,500. I only have 30,000 on the car, do I need him to change the Chain, too???
Thanks,
Art

So was I. When I saw it. Well it was a good choice. Wish I had taken pictures.

Kind regards

Possibly you don't need to change the chain but, with the work involved to do the tensioners, isn't it worth the extra parts cost to be able to draw a line under the whole timing chain/tensioner issue?

Agree. If you're going to pull the front cover, you might as well do the whole shebang.

Definitely, if you are doing the guides you definitely should do the chains and be done with it all....
