Default Replacement of main instrument pack

I've about concluded that my on-going issue in this thread

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...please-170497/

is at least very likely to be a failed main instrument pack. I have found a used replacement of both proper year, model, configuration, and even very close to the same mileage as my XKR.

My question for you all is this: can I just swap the current instrument pack out for this used one without need for any reprogramming? Are there risks associated with this if I take the normal necessary precautions with power disconnect/reconnect and wiring harness plug connection integrity?

I have found conflicting information in my searches of the forums, and in my original thread.

Thanks in advance!

It should work fine. I have done it myself on my 2001. It must be an XKR cluster though that says supercharged on the dial.

I understand, Steve. That's what I have found.

Thanks very much. I hoped you would be able to find the time to chime in, as I feel you are likely the most experienced person I can think of with these instrument units.

Much appreciate your advice, Steve. The replacement unit I acquired worked perfectly upon installation. I have yet to put any significant miles on the XKR since, but so far, it is performing as original. Thanks again.
