RTFM - sometimes it reveals the fun
I stumbled on a couple of old Jaguar produced videos on YouTube yesterday and what a hoot that was.
I am the type that just gets in and drives and although my car has its original owner's manual, I have never sat and read through it. This has caused me to miss out on a lot of fun with the various features the car has and also led me to believe I had always had a non-op washer spray system when I actually always did. I was just ignorant to the way it works.
When I was requesting spray wash, I always pulled the right stalk towards me which always activated a wipe, but never a spray. Must be broken I'd say. After watching the two videos I stumbled on, I discovered that spray is via pushing in the button on the end of the stalk on the right side lmao. You can imagine my glee when I tried it and it actually worked. Felt stupid and relieved at the same time. Watching the videos revealed so many little comfort features on the XK8 and although I am not sure yet which ones are applicable to my MY, I plan to try out each one and simultaneously read the owner's manual to finally find out - after nearly 5 years of ownership - what I have been missing all of this time.
I will put a link to one of the videos I found so that others like me can have convenient access to learning things about the XK8 that they never bothered to sit and learn.
I find it all quite humorous but it's like having a new car today as I am set to explore.
