Silicone Radiator Hose Kit?
Any one know where I can get red silicone radiator hoses for a 2000 XKR? Paragon has them but they want 450 British Pounds or about $720 - WAY too much. http://www.paragondesignuk.com/engine.htm I've tried every search I could think of but I came up with no other options. I have a red coupe and I think the red hoses would look cool...

Yea! I've graduated to "Member" status... :icon_wink:

Welcome to the Forum! I know you'll find the info here valuable.
I hope you find the hoses you're looking for at a good price. Maybe if you can work with this company http://www.viperperformance.co.uk/ta...php?xscId=9759 they can make a set for you at a good price so you can help them to enter the Jaguar market. Good Luck and let the forum members know about your quest. |
$720 for a frikken radiator hose? Braided aviation quality hoses are 1/4th that price!

hoses
A little Bird told me that Nameless Performance may be working on such a kit.

I dont think that is too much, there are a lot of hoses in an XKR set and it includes the T pieces you will need with Mikalor clamps. The T pieces are non standard and have to be made, it all adds up. Attachment 174175 I must admit I don't know anyone else who does them as the demand is so low and the cost of getting the tooling made is high. But you ought to try and compare the cost to other performance cars even things like Skylines you will pay more than the XKR set for a lot less hoses. |

But they are not shapped or made to order are they, and to be fair it is not $720 for a radiator hose, it is $720 for every single hose there is on an XKR engine thats a minimum of 15 and if you want to go mad I will supply all the small ones for the header tank for free |
Ah... I didn't realize that was for all of the hoses. For some reason I was thinking it was $720 for a single hose.

XKRacer, I've seen your posts dozens of times and although it's in your signature block, I didn't realize until now that you were associated with Paragon Designs :icon_redface: sorry about that. I get the fact that the production numbers would be low for such a limited production vehicle but you have to admit the price is off-putting for the regular Joe. My water pump went south last week so I'm doing a T-stat, pump, flush and refill - I'd love to add some nice red silicone hoses but I just can't afford em right now.

Attachment 174168 But as you can he was a missing a few 'awkward' shaped hoses, which I supplied for him, I have no problem with just supplying certain hoses that are needed. |
Very nice "Mr. Paragon!" Engine dress-up is on my list but for now I have to stick to the routine maintenance.

Digging up a very old thread here - but XKRacer, if your still around, can you\will these sets fit a 2004 XJR?
|
Tony, I just noticed he modified the intake tube with silicone hoses. The acordeon area of my intake tube is cracked and it is causing an intake leak. I have remedied this with silicone, electrical tape and duct tape until I could buy a new one.
How hard would it be for me to just remove the accordeon area of the intake tube and replace it with something like what he did? Is it advisable? From what I'm seeing he used a silicone hose and clamps. What other materials can I use that would provide the same needed flexibility? |

Check your dealer's pricing on this item...the air intake tubes are often priced much lower than you might imagine. Lots of them crack, so many are replaced and the parts are plentiful. . |

[QUOTE=XKRacer;973544]Maybe....... The only real difference will be the radiator hoses, I will take a look at my XJR which is a 4.0 but I would expect to be very similar as is with the XKs
Great, thanks - PM me when you know. Would you fit them? Thanks |

I recently learned that we no longer have a Jag dealer in my country. I'd have to buy online or from a parts shop, which tend to mark up the price.

Can you post a pic of the engine bay particularly showing the radiator....... Yours being a X358 could make things a little different, are there all those plastic covers in the way??
The XJs may look similarish from the outside from the X308 but under the skin they are totally different animal and looking at mine (X308) I reckon using the XK set would just about work. No worries about fitting, I will not deny I have not had much experience with X350/8 but happy to have a go |
