Default Top raised switch - 2006 XK8

In the process of replacing the right rear window on my 2006 XK8 convertible, I managed to disconnect the switch that is at the top of the "hood lift cylinder" .
I believe this is called the Convertible top ready to latch switch.
my question is: Is this replaceable ? I try to push the rubber cover on, but it will not stay, so I think I broke the switch.
I can't find any listings for this switch; I see the cylinder with it, but nothing else
I am tempted to try to solder the metal together, but surely someone else has made this mistake .

The yellow/black wire is disconnected and I can not make it stay on ... I think the switch broken

For now, I am reassembling and will work on aligning the back quarter window.
I thank you for your help.
Bill

Yes, that is a confusing little part. The rubber boot should be able to be pried off gently and pushed up the wire. This is what should be underneath.

The switch is integrated into the ram so I have not seen it fir sake separately before. I would probably get a rebuilt/upgrade ram from Top Hydraulics if you can’t fix it yourself. Soldering, might be worth a try? Not sure.

Thanks, I can't get solder to work due to the tight quarters, I bought replacement on ebay. When I remove my old one I will be taking it apart to see what it looks like and if there are other solutions. I am really curious how it was made and how it works internally.
