Guys,
In Bahrain, I’m struggling to get any recommended ATF fluid. The Jaguar Dealer only has ZF Lifeguard 8, not 5, and can’t find MerconSP, Esso 71141, or Mobile 220.

What I can get is Febi Bilstein 14738 or Liqui Moly 1200. Another problem is I have no idea what is already in the car transmission as garage mechanics in Bahrain tell me they use red Dextron ATF.

As this job is done only every 100,000km, I’m keen to choose the best fluid. Any thoughts?

BTW I managed to track down a busted gearbox and practised getting the upgraded Transgo pressure valve in. And springs did go flying as end plate screws are really short!

OK for power steering but you probably don't want the red stuff in your transmission...

Is there a VW agent locally? I read that there are direct equivalents that VW and Peugeot use. Motorcarman has the VW part # here:

This might help with the Transgo upgrade.
