What material is the bumper cover made of?
So, I need to repair my bumper cover with several cracks. However, I have no idea what material the cover is made out of. I've read that there is a stamp on the backside indicating what the material is, but I cannot locate it. I did however, find two 16 year old paper labels on the backside, and I assume the information was on one of them. 16 years old...yeah...like the ink is still there...
Can anyone tell me what the material is so I can buy the correct materials for repair?

THANKS!!

....and the answer is (insert drum roll here)....PUR, or, Polyurethane Resin. It cannot be melted safely, and requires the use of fiberflex sticks (rods) and an airless soldering iron with an application similar to brazing to repair our bumper cover cracks
A lot of body shops use a flexible two part filler, which I suspect is a urethane polymer. The paint has to be flexible also, or it will crack eventually. I suspect shops doing a repaint do not always use the correct paint.
