'Xenon white' or LED bulbs for side lights?

The HID headlights on my XKR are great, but they make the 'ordinary' sidelight bulbs appear yellow :( I ordered a pair of these multiple LED bulbs a while back off Bay, but they were too big to fit physically in the hole at the back of the headlight. Pity, because I fitted them to my Suzuki 4WD and they look great.

Has anyone found a nice bright 'xenon white' T10 bulb that fits the XK? I am really looking for a multiple LED version (i.e. with LEDs down the side), because the cheaper versions with LEDs only at the front just don't throw out enough light.

the only two that I found that actually fit, had only one LED on it, really dim :( severely disappointing, stuck with the halogen. Now when you're ready to do your front and rear turns, let me know. :)

I have done them all on customer XKs, the company I use is actually a USA based company called Super Bright LEDs (Click HERE). Can not fault the quality, I am pretty sure they are all still made in China but of a much higher standard than those you find on ebay.

The reversing lights are pheonominal, when you select the gear it is like you have head lights at the rear very useful for night time reversing

Exactly, the single-LED bulbs are hopeless. I'd like to swap the indicator bulbs, too. Any pointers?

Thanks for the heads-up. I'll take a look :)

..i tried LED (blue color) for my park light in front..but drains my battery after 3 days...
..the reason is, the led i replaced was not turning off totally..there is a small amount of light left from the led. anybody knows the reason why?..

Thanks.

They do switch off and the light you see is residule power in the resistors/capacitors, most LEDs do this and is perfectly normal, no power is taken from the battery.

Is this likely to cause a "bulb failure" message ?
There was a post suggesting that only Jaguar OEM bulbs should be used to avoid the message.

You only get bulb failure messages regarding the rear lights, nothing for the front!

Not sure if this apply's to EU, but some places here are outlawing HID's and any really bright lights on any part of the car. To many people getting blinded, I guess.

XKRACAR.....WHAT BULBS DO YOU USE TO REPLACE THE stock 194 bulb that is mounted high in the front headlights? any way you can give me a link? Thank you!

"You only get bulb failure messages regarding the rear lights, nothing for the front!"

This is correct the LED's have virtually no resistance and the vehicle reads it as an error...

You need to put a resistor in for each bulb,,, they are small but generate quite a bit of heat... You can make a nice panel to mount them on in the trunk by the spare tyre... The blinkers or directionals need a special flasher module...

All is possible but if you just Re-Do your driving lights,,, Headlight,,, Fog Lights,,, and Reverse Lights you should have no error codes or problems,,, no resistors needed in this option...

superbrightleds.com is the best place to get the bulbs from what I HEAR,,, have not done this upgrade yet... thou I plan to...

And there is a thread that did a comparision of all the bulbs out there the brightness,,, effectiveness,,, Fit, ETC.

I couldn't find a proper size/style relay for the LEDs that supposedly took the place of a resistor, thus putting a resistor on each bulb (turn, parking + brake).

search out the Exterior Section of the forums, under my user name as a thread starter. Its a long read, but should give you 99% of what you need.

Your turn markers behind the front wheel are supposed to be yellow?

Even with the white housing, they give you the yellow chromium bulbs... I just use those.

LED Bulbs are better than any other bulbs but i think the light expansion is much lower than many other types of bulb.
