Default XK8 1997 Starting issues

Starting
when the ignition is turned on with a fully charged battery the battery power drops to 20% capacity and gearbox fault / traction control etc etc shows up on screen also rev counter flicks up and down .
even if car starts ok it will sometimes have the above problem after a few minutes running. any thoughts appreciated.
Regards Bill

The first thing I would do is have your battery tested. Most exhaust & battery places will do it for free, (hoping to sell you a new one of course). Just drive in, it's a 5 min job. I thought mine was OK but on testing it could only delivery 65%. I replaced it and the odd 'funny' electrical issues seem to have disappeared.

By the way, these places are the most expensive places to buy a battery from. I got mine from my 'indie' in MK.
