Rear Suspension/Springs

Rear Suspension/Springs
I was wondering if anyone has experience with "re tempering" coil springs? I have had difficulty finding a reasonably priced spring for my 1996 Vanden Plas L body and soon, if I cant find what I am looking for I will take the springs out and have them re-tempered, stretched a bit and re-installed. But, I have not done this before. Investigation into this process, indicates the need to understand the process of "annealing" to properly get the job done. I am just looking for anyone who has had a similar experience or understanding of this process or how bout just a set of springs for the car...the dealers are trying to get 600 for the set....https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/i..._deadhorse.gif

Not sure what dealers you have contacted, but a UK supplier has them for less than £100
Jaguar Coil Springs
Here's another couple of UK supplier
Steering-Suspension | Jaguar X300 - XJR | British Parts UK
JustJagsUK.com - Jaguar X300, X308, XJ40 Rear Road Spring Kit (Pair) (JLM12257-A)=
So I'm not sure who's quoting you $600, as this equates to £368; quote a lot for a pair of springs, I'd say unless that includes fitting them.
