Can now buy a complete sunroof from a pre-2002 car, but the partslist shows a different number for the early S-Types.
Do you know/think it will fit, or can I exchange the slider components?

Appreciate your advise in this.
I believe the slider components are compatible between 1999.25 MY to 2005 - double check though before proceeding.

If you get the slider components out - look at the part numbers and reference them to the parts listing numbers.

Hope this helps.

Did anyone ever confirm this?

The repair kits all say they fit the 2000-02 cars, am I safe to buy one for my 03, it's doing the crunching thing now.

Hi Norri,

That's exactly the question, still.
There are no Jaguar partnumbers on these components. and Webasto (Germany) is not informative as well.
Have you got an answer from The Sunroof Doctor - Your source for replacement sunroof & t-top parts! ?

I don't know what I need, the roof has developed a mind of it's own when opening / closing and is crunching pretty good, so something in the tilt slide mechanism, I'll contact the doctors and see what they have to say if no one has the answer here.
I've got it closed now and think it's better to leave well alone until I can source some parts.

Keep us posted on what you learn....

I always keep the moonroof closed. There has consistently been an annoying harmonic distortion in the cabin above 30 mph with the moonroof open. Given these plastic slider components, that's yet another reason just to keep the damn thing shut....

I had a look at the sunroof doctor's website and they list a whole load of cars but the link to the S-type goes nowhere (no big surprise, I suppose, given that OEM parts are unobtainable from the dealers)

Now that's something I'd like to know, I did contact them at one time but didn't get an answer.
It's not been high on the priority list since.

With 45C+ daytime temps here, the sunroof isn't a big issue (although aircon and the cooling system are)

chtp66 has the 2005 post facelift model, they state on the ebay ad that the LS unit is compatible with 2000-2002 pre facelift S Types so you should be golden.

Hope it works out. Let us know if.
Maybe this link helps you a bit further when taking on the job. It shows in detail how to replace parts of a Webasto sunroof in a Lincoln LS.

I purchased Kit WSRK from the SunroofDoctor.com last year. They stated it would fit my 04 STR. It was listed as being for 00-02 Lincoln LS. Paid $119.00 plus $12 shipping.

It has been a year since I researched it, but the sun roof in our S-types are the same as used in a lot of other cars. A very common module. Our 04 Saturn L300 has the exact same moon roof in it. I took her glass out to compare and see what plastic parts had broken in my S-type.

I haven't wanted to install the kit because I was told you have to remove the head liner to get access to the runners. I did have the glass out and confirmed that the parts in the kit are exactly the same as in my 04 STR.

$120 seems like good value for all those parts
