Tampa Bay British Car Club and Friends:

As some of you may not know our Illustrious Treasurer, The Honorable John Johanson has taken ill. He has developed acute anemia due to a malfunction of the bone marrow. His prognosis is good with a bone marrow transplant. He currently is on the transplant list and his family is also being tested for compatibility. Finding a match, preparing for the transplant and the procedure can be a long process, from 3 to 6 months. His symptoms can be treated with frequent Blood transfusions; 3 to 4 pints a week and even more during the pre transplant process. That is a lot of Blood.
Many Tampa Bay British Car Club members have asked to donate blood. You can give a Directed Donation at any Blood Donation site or at a “Red Bus” Blood Drive. Locations can be found at www.oneblood.org , They will need his name, His Doctors name and The Hospital:

I was able to visit John this past Sunday, he was in good spirits, but tired very quickly. Please keep John in your thoughts and prayers.

The June Burger Quest at Maggie Mae’s was well attended, the food was great and all had a good time.

Tampa Bay British Car Club’s Next Meeting is June 23. At Ben’s Paradise Restaurant at 443 Main Street Safety Harbor. Meeting starts at 7 PM, Come early for dinner and conversations (about 6:00 PM). Drive your British Car. Hope to see you there.

The Brits by The Bay Summer Picnic on June 25. The Tampa Bay British Car Club invites all area Car Clubs and everyone to its semi annual picnic at Phillippe Park, 2525 Phillippe Parkway, Safety Harbor Fl in Shelter #2. Starts at about 10:00 AM, Eats at noon and ends when the last car leaves. If your name begins with A to L please bring a dessert, M to Z bring an appetizer or side dish. TBBCC will provide Burgers, hot Dogs, drinks and all the fixings. Please RSVP to president@tampabaybritishcarclub.org. All Cars, Clubs and People are welcome.

At both Tampa Bay British Car Club biannual picnics the Club gives away some very nice door prizes. These prizes include Club Regalia, Gift Certificates, Car Cleaning Products and much more. And this year I have some GREAT prizes. To be eligible for the door prizes you MUST attend the monthly Club Meetings. At the meeting you can get door prize tickets. These tickets are given to any member that has driven a British Car, one ticket for each day driven since the last Club meeting, that can be up to 31 tickets. And you get an extra ticket for attending the meeting. This “raffle” is to encourage everyone to drive his or her British Car. A British Car is defined as any mark that originated in Britain, both Classic and Modern Cars. You MUST be present at the picnic to win, only one prize per member and all the tickets will roll over to the December picnic. Any Club Member that donates Blood prior to the picnic will receive an additional 10 door prize tickets.
