For actual parts, I'd look at the parts catalog on "Jaguar Parts" - Jaguar parts and accessories catalog Those hose part numbers are $24 and $19 each. Here's a SC cooling system diagram:

thanks for the great diagram, no its easy to see how complicated the cooling system really is and why it may be hard to find out exactly where the leak is. Then it needs to be purged! Also easy to see why some shops may opt to simply replace a few extra hoses to be sure while they are in there!

Thank you for the info. That is the same diagram I found on AllData, I was hoping for a parts diagram for the part numbers I listed such as the one in the Jaguar parts book.

Default Problem found & solved

The new Jag dealer found the problem after removing the throttle body, the hose from the thermostat to the throttle body, AJ89746, was cut at the throttle body which leaves me to the conclusion the other Jag dealer must have done it when the throttle body was replaced in 2011. Here is the time line, tell me what you think.

October 2011 the throttle body was replaced

March 2012, 5000 miles later, the coolant expansion tank ran dry, dealer said needed new tank

July 2012, 5000 miles later, coolant expansion tank ran dry again, dealer said previously mentioned hoses needed to be replaced

January 2012, approx 2500 miles later, found coolant low in reservoir, topped off and drove another 500 miles, leak persisted.

Finally brought to different Jag dealer and was informed about the cut hose

I hardly think it a coincidence and while I am relieved the leak is gone, I have come out of pocket quite a bit of money.

What do you think the likelyhood is the original Jag dealer will agree?

Thanks much!

well when you lay out the timeline its obvious what happened. I totally agree the original dealer won't be very accommodating. Maybe a free oil change! It also reconfirms the need not to tinker or have someone tinker with our very complicated cars if you don't have to!

While it definitely sounds like the first dealer was making the wrong diagnosis all along, not sure how much recourse you will have. Even though the cut hose was found by another Jag dealer, they can't prove that the reservoir wasn't leaking previously. It may have been leaking, then they just replaced it and assumed it was the only leak.

I'll bet all Jaguar will tell you is that you have to file your complaint through the original dealer since they're all independent. And that dealer is going to tell you "pffffttt" and send you on your way.
