Where??
Finally, the problem found was left front wire broken, the measurements on the pins 17&18 on the connector made some variations. The correct one is 1,1-1,2 Kohms.
My tip, before opening the modulator just measure the values on the 26 pins connector, 3&4, 6&7 17&18 21&22, looking on the connector count from top right.
-----------------
Does anyone have a photo of the ABS connector with pin numbers shown for the wheel sensors? I'm going to do this and am not sure what wires to check for resistance.
Thanks.

Here is a pdf from the XK8 forum. Same ABS module. The resistance values do not seem to be the 1.0- 1.2K that everyone seems to find, don't worry about that.

Since it is damp again, my XJ8 will once again be having this problem. In terms of the wiring, is each circuit from the control module to the wheel sensor continuous, or are there intermediate connectors? I'm wondering how many possible points of poor connectivity or corrosion there are. And if there are intermediate connectors, where would they be?

I did this job last week. I would bet it is a bad solder connection. My mechanic said he thought it might be the abs module and $1600 should fix it. I don't like throwing money at guesses. I followed the instructions posted here and in an hour and a half I was done. This includes searching for tools to fit in the tight space and waiting for the epoxy and silicone to set. The brake lines bend easily out of the way. Instead of cutting the whole lid off the module it might be easier to just cut open the corner of the box that the wires go into. The soldering is the fastest and easiest part of the job. Don't worry it's easy.

In the Wiring Guide info reproduced above by Jim Lombardi, the connectors LF1 and LF2 are described as being "below chassis rail" on the right and left sides. Does anyone know where this is more explicitly? Get at them from above or below the car? In plain sight or hidden? Near any obvious landmarks? To use language from my math and logic classes long ago, JTIS information is often "necessary but not sufficient."

Hi Boomer
See if you can find the connector between the ABS module and the ABS Wheel Speed Sensor by following the 2-wire harness attached to the ABS wheel speed sensor back towards where it splits off from the Front Axle Harness. Maybe the connector is where it comes off the Front Axle Harness.
Here are 2 more Wiring Diagrams - Front Harnesses and Rear Harnesses:
I also updated the ABS Wiring Diagrams PDF file to include these 2 new diagrams and added notes to the others related diagrams about them:

That 2 foot long harness is a weak link, good for lots of intermittent ABS faults.
Good luck!

Boomer, those connectors are easily found. Start at the connector to a front wheel speed sensor, that's one end of the link harness. Follow the harness up and across the upper "A" arm, there is a loop where it meets the body. About 4 inches ahead of that loop is the connector you are looking for, clipped to the underside of the body tube. [LF1 or LF2]

When you say 4 inches ahead, do you mean 4" toward the abs module and hidden from view? if so, how do you access it?
Are you suggesting these simply be replaced??

Interesting ending to my ABS/ASC light issue...
Okay, I can NOT explain this one away..
I did the sensor resistance check at the wheels and at the connector level, all was within specs. I cleaned the sensors but still randomly the ABS/ASC light would come on. Mostly after the next startup after the first morning start. It's been becoming more frequent over the last few months.
Ironical at the same time I was starting to get "low coolant" lights for the first time since I've had the car. I have smelled coolant for some time but could never really pinpoint exactly where until I read a very informative thread hear about the reservoir. I was thinking the leak was coming from the sensor when a member point out it can't be because it's a probe that just inserts up into the reservoir and snaps into place- no seal. The reservoir level sensor in inside and appears t under with a magnetic ring that the probe senses coolant levels.
Anyway, I changed the reservoir out, which came with a new sensor, and Veloa! I have not had a ABS/ASC light since!
Can't explain it, don't see anything in the ABS harness plug that would lend it self to a common link but I no longer see an ABS/ASC light pop on upon the second startup. Over the last few months it would come on almost after every second start up within a few minutes of driving.
Don't make any sense I know but I waited a week to post this to be sure.
Thought I'd post all thinking maybe someone else can explain the ghost in the machine.

At time of your original warning light issues did the car go into the "restricted Mode" as my 2000 XJ does along the warning lghts as well.
