Default Paint XJS 1996

Can anyone tell me what type of paint system was utilized on the 1996 XJS 2+2 Convertible.

My color is the original...I think Polar white?? or something like that.

1. Was it a two (2) PART system, Base coat/clear coat

Thanks

Yes. Standard base and clear coat. No XJS that I know of had the single stage. Not even the 70's ones from my understanding

I am pretty sure signal red and one other colour were solid colours with no clear.

There were plenty of non-clear colors. Here's a chart with the door codes and weather they are base/clear or not.

Loving that link, and I enjoyed seeing how many colours lasted for just a short time. I was surprised to see that my ex-98 XJR in meteorite was a single-year colour - it looked great in my opinion!

But to the other single-year colours, '94 seemed to feature a couple of oranges (sandstone and Saturn) that I'm sure I've never seen on a Jag. Does anyone have any pictures of a factory orange Jag from this time? Or does anyone have the build quantities against these colours - I imagine some are in single-digit quantities!

Default Touchup on 96 XJS

Have any of you had experience with touch up paint work. I used to paint years ago (Mostly Laquer or enamel)....telling my age..... as a hobby when I worked on cars as a hobby.

My 96 XJS has the white paint 2 part system (Spindrift White).

My question is: Have you purchased any off the shelf touch up paints and had successful match when reworking? I have some touch up on the front/rear bumpers. I know I probably need some flex additive

That's why I like White, Blk as exterior colors!!!!

Thanks
