I heard Aston doesn't like garage queen cars as used offerings; too much headache with things breaking that should not break due to lack of use.

Update: Dec 2016 dealer did check and the 2007 replacement engine is leaking oil. Timing cover seals leak, camshaft gasket, spark plug seals.. Will cost $400 or so in parts, $1400 or so in labor. I am NOT happy. I had my 2009 - 7 years with no leaks up to 2015. Elite Auto Parts Engine warranty 90 days. Dealer 1 year. Insurance co of course says regular wear and tear. Dealer did not advise of 1 year warranty either. UGH. Do these prices sound correct? Is this taking engine apart again?? How can this not be due to age of engine? Don't seals dry out? Especially if not driven much?

The engine put in your car whether from a used parts dealer or not, should have been rebuilt with new seals etc, and be as good as new. Usually insurance will either pay for a new motor, factory rebuilt or other source but still rebuilt and the dealer should have noted this was a used off the shelf motor to all parties involved as they run the risk of being liable for any failures due to supplied parts not being up to spec. Sounds like your insurance company and the dealer could be held legally accountable in this case.
