Hey guys, I want to eventually put in a set of subs and new speakers in my '03 jag x-type but I had a few questions first. So here they are:

1. I read somewhere that the wiring for subs in a jag were all ready in the trunk. Is this true, how do I access these wires and if not anyone know the easiest route to getting power and speaker cable to the trunk?

2. When changing the speakers, will I have to remove the whole door panel or can I just remove the speaker grilles?

3. If I did want to change the head unit, is there a dash kit or has anyone installed a Metra 99-9500 Installation Kit? Is there a kit better than the Metra kit?

HAve you tried searching the forums, there are a bunch of topics like this out there.

But if you open the trunk you should be able to find the sub in the rear deck and there is a harness that plugs into the sub enclosure. There should be a power connector in the vicinity of the cd changer - search you find some pictures.

The door panels have to come off - check the faq's in the x-type section for instructions.

Not sure about the dash kit - maybe some else will come along that does...
