New to the Forum and not sure if this is the right place but I really need help with this install. I bought a 6.1 inch JVC touchscreen headunit without NAV and matching door speakers and tweeters to replace my premium alpine speakers that don't work anyways. I wanted to make sure it was all done right so I bought it all from Best Buy and also paid for them to install it. Well as they installed the headunit they told me that the sound was not working at all with it. They said it was because of the stock amplifier and the fiber optic wiring already in the car is not compatible with the headunit. I was informed that I would have to have the car completely rewired and purchase a new amp for the headunit also for anything to work at all. Is this true and if so is it worth the money or is it false and if so what do I do now? Please help I spent a nice bit of change on this system and just got the car last week. I have a 2005 X-type with premium sound and no nav btw.
