Bluetooth audio adapter for XJ8, S-Type or X-Type (D2B optical)
#121
I am not trying to be a Debbie Downer, but I have a much more elegant and easy bluetooth solution. I have a 2003 Stype. I replaced the OEM CD player with a OEM Cassette player from an Xtype that I found on ebay for $40. I purchased two ION brand bluetooth cassette adapters. Each has a 4 hour battery life and I charge one while the other is in use. I stream everything very easily from my phone ... SiriusXM, Tunein, GPS, etc. the mic is pretty good for handfree telephone.

iqury.us page seems to be down. I would be interested in one bluetooth unit. Are you still making them?
EDIT: Nevermind! I was contacted by e-mail. For some reason clicking the link didnt work for me, but when I type it manually it works fine.

Thanks so much to Venelin for this fabulous device. He very kindly installed my unit about a month ago, and my audio system is transformed. I was using a POS FM modulator since I bought this car, and I hated it so very much. Venelin's box is, quite simply, fantastic. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Hello everyone
Since the device is no longer available, would you share some more details to possibly recreate similiar one ?
I am interested in such a device and since I cannot buy it I might be able to hack similiar one, I would need some details on the d2b protocol hack and what board did you use to get into the in-car system loop.
The rest I will be able to figure out, I have been searching around and found out that possibly using some mercedes stuff would be able to hack inside the loop.

I would love to buy one of these because I am about to spend over $1000 on an aftermarket radio and installation. I hate the look of aftermarket, but I cannot stand having no Bluetooth in my 2004 XJ8 anymore. If anybody hears of a devise we can get that is like the Venelin's box, please let me know. Thank you!!!

Here are the components you need:
1. ACM Audio connectivity module
2. bluetooth receiver
With this setup, in addition to the CD player and radio, I had Ipod, USB, Bluetooth available on my XJ. I also had an Amazon Echo and was listening to stream without any commercials.
Let me know if you need any help. I will send you my contact information through private message. I also have the components for sale if you need them.

Adam, I had Bluetooth on my 2006 XJ8L that I installed myself without touching the original system. In fact I am trying to setup a similar system on my glk350.

To those who were lucky enough to get their hands on one of Venelin's boxes before he stopped making them:
My unit used to permit me to use my radio controls to pause, skip forward, and skip back when playing music from my iPhone. It still works on my old iPhone5S (iOS12), and it worked on my iPhone6. It didn't work on my 6s; it did work on my wife's iPhone X, and it doesn't work on my iPhone 11. Have any of you run across this problem? Have you found a fix to it, or any explanation of underlying reasons it works on some iPhones, but not on others?
Thanks,
Doug
