Default CDC and file formats

I want to add more capacity with 700 GB CD's to my changer. I burned a disk to capacity and installed it. There is no sound. I can see it playing by looking @ the screen.

What file extension are we limited to or is this operator error? I save the burned disc in WMA format.

To answer my own question: System will not play WMA files. I converted the tracks to MP3 and all is good. The sound quality is a bit degraded but it was old music so it may have not been great to start with.

Interesting. May I ask which year of changer you have? I wasn't aware that mp3 was a supported format type.

Also, which format for the disk did you use?

700MB should not be a problem at all.
Did you try a different brand?

So you're saying the X350 cd changer WILL play mp3 cd's even though it's not an advertised feature?

Default x350 XJ8 CD Changer

So I just purchased a 2006 XJ8 L with no CD Changer.

I would like to be able to play MP3 discs in the changer. I notice the head unit will not.

I wanted to verify that you have in fact burned .mp3 files to cd's and heard them through your cd changer?

I'm guessing that the track forwarding will just continue on to whatever the amount of songs are that are on the CD?

Thanks!
