Seems like the veffremov project is dead. I found JagAux, is that the current best solution? My local car audio guy gave up after not finding anything in his supplier lists.

 

I'm looking for the same thing. I'd rather not stick a Bluetooth/radio transmitter in the dash. I have an X-type VDP with the touchscreen nav and would love to upgrade everything to Android Auto but will settle for a decent hardwired Bluetooth connection.

 

The best I've found so far is JagDroid, but you have to send a head unit and touchscreen to the UK for them to make the changes, and it costs about 600 pounds, then they ship it back to you, and you install it yourself.

 

Yikes! $800+ plus shipping to and fro.

Too bad climate controls are integrated into the system. Otherwise I could just replace the screen with an Android tablet with 4g service and call it a day.

 

Yeah, and the audio controls and system settings, plus the optical bus which connects the sound system and steering wheel controls. My quotes for a custom solution have been much higher, so it may end up being worth it over time. I'm making do with a Bluetooth to FM transmitter for now.
