Not sure but try to put your radio / CD selector on CD and give it a try. If that does not work check and see if you have an on/off switch in the glove box.

I have links to both the owner's manual and the startup guide for the ACM in the installation section on this page:

Question 2008 X Type ipod Connection

Hi guys, I need help with connecting my new iPod Nano 16Gb into my 2008 (last edition) X Type and buying an ACM seems a costly solution, so I've been looking round for suitable alternatives. It looks as though my only route is with an FM modulator, which by all accounts is a lot better than a low cost transmitter. This involves tapping into the aerial connection behind the head unit (the aerial terminates here rather than in the back with the satnav) so it looks pretty straightforward. Looks like a DICE kit will do the job (it comes with an Ipod docking cable) but I need to power the DICE box. Anyone tried this and can help before I go ahead and purchase? Appreciate any help either across the pond in the US or here in the UK. Thanks guys!
