Default Stiffening Capacitor

I have a 2003 XKR and was looking at the amp(s) recently. They really do not look beefy enough to supply the power needed for all the dynamics of music especially in the bass sections. Considering the stock audio system has separate subwoofers I was thinking of adding a large (2+ farad) capacitor to the system.

Just curious to see if any owners have tried this and what their experience might be.

DSP, being into car stereos for a long time, adding a capacitor may help a little bit, but it isn't going to make that big of a difference. Normally the cap is just there to make up for inadequacies in the wiring between the amp and the alternator. In the case of the factory setup, you are probably suffering from much more.

Will it make any difference, only up near max volume. Other times, the wiring will be more than adequate and any losses you may experience will be very minimal.
