I recently upgraded my system to a JL Audio 12W7 and a 500/1 amplifier and decided to do a little test to see how much bass I could push out and see if it would affect clarity (my previous setup would distort). I managed to turn the bass up to 4 or 5 (mind you I have 2 different bass presets so it can get up to 18 total). When I turned the volume up the bass hit soo hard that I fried my fuze and melted my fuze holder!!!! I didn't realize my setup was that powerful but I guess I'll be getting thicker gauge wires now when I come home.[&:]

Besides fuse size the gauge of the wire used is also important. Below are some pic's of the power set up I used in a previous

Watch out for those subs, they can trash your car. My buddys Lincoln LS was practically falling apart from the vibration. He had a 2nd battery in the trunk and went thru the stock alternator very quickly.

For those of yall that have amplifiers hooked up I have a question, where did yall use to get a signal ? I'm trying to add a amp to my stock 2004 S-type with OEM stereo/navi I get powerto the amp butno signal?

Also what color are the wires for the door speakers?
