I have just bought a 2008 XF with reversing camera, but unlike the new models it doesn't display the yellow lines which show where the car is going to end up (which makes the display pretty useless, frankly, because you can't use it to tell if you are going to hit something). Is it possible to get a software upgrade to deal with this?

 

I know this is an old thread but I was actually wondering the very same thing myself - did you ever have any luck with this? Cheers

 

Sadly, no!!

Mind you, it might be worth going to your local Jaguar dealer. I live in Hong Kong but have a UK-origin car (as in it was imported secondhand, not just that it was made there!) so Jaguar HK refer me back to the UK, and the UK refer me back to Jaguar HK. Not very helpful...

 

Fit something like the pioneer ND-BC20PA inline with the camera

This adds parking lines and a digital overhead view

I have one of these fitted to one of my cars
You can also alter the position, angle and length of the lines

Lines are usually added either in the interface to the display or, sometimes, by the camera itself. Sometimes, the camera may be able to be set during installation. is this a OEM camera? You may be able to replace the camera itself with one that will provide parking lines
