yet another x308 audio install (alpine premium system 02 xjr)
I have a few audio install questions.
1. are the tweeters and midbass speakers in the doors and a pillars amplified separately or run through single channels with crossovers?
2. i've seen a couple of people running double din head units, how have they accomplished this? i have my eye on the pioneer unit with android integration.
3. i, like most, have a blown sub. my plan is to eliminate the stock sub and put two 12" subs in the rear deck. my question is how much space do i have from the top of the fuel tank to the parcel shelf? is there room for traditional subs, or will i have to use shallow mount subs.
4. with my plan of mounting subs in the rear parcel shelf, should i find someway to build an enclosure under there or just go free air?
5. wiring options. which is the best way to run; along the side of the car or through the center under the console (which should be fun to remove)?
6. from my understanding, the factory amplifier is in the trunk (boot, that still cracks me up), correct? if so that's freaking outstanding, that means all i really need to run from my hu to the trunk is rca and remote wires.
7. last question, what problems am i gonna run into by unhooking the battery?

Ive done a ton of searches and found vague and spotty results. Ive decided to figure out most on my own.
I've only seen the guy who took apart his jvc and extended the wires, I have nowhere near that type of confidence in my soldering ability to cut up a stereo. As much as I gate them, I'll probably be going with a fold out HU, I'm somewhat considering a pc set up. That way I won't have the clearance issues.
I've found the amp.
I've found nothing about clearance between the fuel tank and parcel shelf. I did see one person's post about putting a 8" square solobaric.
