Cool...the list is growing!

Don't expect a concourse car from me though. Mine is a good tidy everyday driver. I do have an e-tag but still try to avoid the tolls and across Old Northern Road is a well worn track. All good.

Nothing to worry about there Doug, most of us are like you and drive our cars most days.

paulyling 08-13-2015 05:12 PM

Fear not Doug. Mine too is a daily driver and has a far from perfect exterior at the moment. I'll be trying to hide the marks left after I removed my coach stripe recently:

Hope I can get her looking nice for the day!

A bit off topic, but worth a mention about tollways, which I also generally avoid unless traffic is at a complete standstill. I sometimes wonder though if it’s false economywith our relatively high-maintenance cars, because stop-go (traffic light) driving not only uses more fuel than cruising, but increases wear and tear on tyres, brakes, engine, trans, suspension components etc and the risk of a rear ender, which are allmore expensive to repair/replace on our cars, compared with a new Hyundai (heaven forbid).

paulyling 08-13-2015 08:40 PM

Gday Bruce

We missed ya at the last outing. Your becoming a regular! How did the cruise go?

Look forward to catching up at ABD!

ozxj 08-14-2015 08:35 AM

I might wash it though.... :-)

Meet and Greet

For those who enjoyed the last Watts Bridge Aviation Car event, well this one is the biggy. If weather is fine, it is hard to find a parking spot, plenty of camping spots for those who wish to make a weekend of it. Great dinner put on but definitely need to book a seat for that hanger meal, refreshments are available also. I will most likely camp under the Yak wing... would be great to see a huge gathering of Jags......see you all there....Pete Gardiner, Bribie Isl...............

went out for a run with my son in his Toyota 86 supercharged

Heh guys

As mentioned a little earlier some of us Northsiders are meeting up at the Bruce Hwy BP heading southbound.

The route I was going to take was head North on the Bruce Hwy and take the Homemaker exit to cut across Brendale and then up Old Northen Road all the way to Toowong Cemetery and turn onto the Centenary Hwy from there. Follow the Hwy for a while and take the Jindalee exit (i think) which lands you at the Jindalee Maccas where we meet Clarke and start the convoy to ABD.

It takes about 1hr and 40mins to get to Clarke's Maccas from the Morayfield BP.

Clarke what time you want to meet at Macca's?

Pete, since your coming from Bribe Island, do you want to meet us at the BP?

Once I get a time to arrive at Jindalee we can make a meeting time at the BP servo

Paul, it's about 45-60 minutes to Jindalee from Morayfield, probably about 50 minutes that early. Meeting at the Maccas at 7 should work well. 10 minutes to venue from there. Gates open at 7.
They want most cars in by 7.30.

Entry for competitors is $15 which includes a metal badge for the first 700 to arrive. Visitor parking is $5, Walk in is $2.
Bring cash! no eft pos.

I am bringing a bbq, so if everyone wants to bring along food for breakfast and lunch we can have a cook up rather than the event food. Rather average and pricey.
But proceeds from the food go to the school providing the grounds.

Sounds good.

Well guys on the North are we happy to meet at the BP servo going southbound at Morayfield at 5:30am and leave shortly after? :icon_arrow: :icon_arrow:

That should get as at Jindalee Maccas Just after 6:30am and maybe grab a sneaky breakfast there before we depart for ABD.
