We are also having a dinner Saturday night at the Hamilton Hotel at 6pm, all welcome. See details further back in the thread.
I assume the parking layout will be same as previous years. You will be directed from the entrance by officials and signs. Jaguarforums has it's own space adjacent to the JDCQ.
Dr Phill says the water pump is good to go.
We may be pushing our 50's, but we are still 21 at heart.

Then on to the fuel tank on Monday. I've sandblasted the bottom and discovered a few more holes so have decided to 'lead wipe' the whole bottom of the tank to cover the other minor corrosion and seal it up for good. Just waiting on the kit to arrive in the post now. Hopefully ready for Sunday ABD.
As there will be few of us traveling from the Northside of town is there any chance we could meet up at the BP Southbound (Morayfield) on Sunday morning and travel together to Tennyson. Anyone interested? The trip is just under an hour so if we plan to leave at 6:30am we'd arrive around 7:30 am. Perhaps meetup at 6:15am for a 6:30 departure?
I wish I had a Doctor Phil! Pushing 70 and should know better but still love these cars. Have just finished refurbishing rear brakes on the XJS. New pistons and seals, dismantle/inspect/clean park brake calipers, new rear hose, new main and park brake pads. All re-assembled and back in place ready for bleed and test tomorrow. Don't EVER want to do that job again.

But also very satisfying to know I got it done on my own with a lot of help from the guys here on the forum.
(Dr Phill & I had a few years where we lost touch in our 40+ year friendship while we had family duties and he & his good wife carried on with the "dink" lifestyle) There are always times when lives take different paths.
Edit: (dink) Double Income, No kids.

G'day Les
I am pretty sure most of our fleet aren't concourse showing either mate so you'll be in good company, come along and bring your kitty's!
And as Clarke mentioned you are welcome to come along also to the lunch/dinner the day before also.

Hello Paul and all,
Checking in after yet another absence getting son's building project up and running. By next weekend concrete floor for his extension will be curing and I'll be joining you at the ABD.
Thanks to Doug & Lois' generous hospitality, I'll be arriving with them on Friday. Driving the 04 XK8 and looking forward to a relaxing journey from Inverell to Ipswich. From there on, it's up to Mr Google . . . very frustrating owning what (I think) is the only Oz X100 with full factory OEM SatNav, but for which there are no Oz maps! Makes our S-Type so much more refined, but the ultraviolet rocketship needs the run . . . and the crowds, coz it thrives on adoration.
Be gentle with me, Brisbane . . . just figured it's over 40 years since we regularly traveled the Bruce, young family living in Bundy but with both sets of parents/grandparents back in Sydney and Katoomba. Hmmm . . . 40 years . . . has it changed at all . . . ???

Cheers,

Ken

I'm lovin' it Doug and boyo . . . I sure am looking forward to it!
And what a good roll-up we seem to have lined up for not only the ABD itself, but also the other activities all of you have cooked up . . . glorious one day; perfect the next!
Great opportunity to catch up with those having like minded interest in fine cars; re-kindling friendships as well as making new friends; and of learning and sharing so much valuable Jaguar knowledge.
Cheers and best wishes to all,

Ken

After promising all at our "big sky" weekend at Tenterfield on behalf of NSW, then being rewarded with wall to wall rain, and yet another widespread frost here in Inverell this morning, I thought it wise to check the outlook for next weekend in Brissy.
Y'know what . . . why did I bother?
Glorious one day; perfect the next . . . must be an echo in here somewhere!
Jim, Nina . . . pack the sunnies and thongs.
Bring it on!
Cheers to all,

Ken

Ha ha ha. True. In fact people are complaining up here in the hinterland as they ran out of tank water! The weather is broken...
Anyway, looking forward to the meet. Less than a week to go!

Ok guys here is the layout for the day. As you can see we are on the second field again, on the top left in one row (labeled "Classic Jaguar Enthusiasts and Jaguar Forums). We are adjacent to the Jaguar Drivers Club so there will be a nice mix of Jaguars mingled together. Also Rolls, Bentley's and Aston Martins on our field. Lots of eye candy!

Same position on the field as last year Paul. A fine sunny weekend is forecast. After that it can rain all it likes. We certainly need some to settle the dust. We might have to quench our thirst at the Hamilton before the City Cat trip. There is plenty parking there at the rear. Can I suggest we meet at the Sports Bar in the front of the hotel around 1pm. City Cats depart across the road (5min walk) at 1:28 and 1:43. Time for one quick drink at least to welcome our southern belles.
I can guarantee it wont rain till the week after the ABD.
We have had no rain in the hinterland for 4 months but that will change the week after the ABD as we have the rain dance going on up here.
The rain dance is performed by a 30 Ton excavator, posi-track and dump truck that will be at my place the week after.
Im betting the earthworks bring rain because nothing else seems to!!!
Cheers
