Default Engine Coolant for 2000 Sovereign

Hi Guys,

I have a 2000 Jaguar Sovereign 4.0 V8 and I need to buy some coolant for it. I have the sticker next to the cap that states:

Use only long life coolant ref WSS-M97B44-D coloured orange.

I would swear the coolant that came out of the car was red (or pink), and not orange.

Can any of the Brissie boys tell me where to buy the correct coolant? Obviously at a Jaguar dealer, but is there a substitute that works equally well?

The old coolant has been flushed from the system, so I am not adverse to changing the coolant type/colour if there is a better alternative.

Many thanks in advance.

This is what I use in the 2001 XKR (4.0 V8). Made in Australia and available at Supercheap Stores.

It's the spec (WSS-M97B44-D) and not the colour that's important. OE Jaguar coolant is bright orange but I've seen other varieties meeting the correct spec which are only a pale pink. Nothing magical about coolant in a Jaguar container other than the cost!

The warnings are given because mixing old style antifreeze and current OAT coolant can result in the fluid forming a gel as some members have been horrified to discover.
