Hi Gavin
The 1000 klm round trip gave me an opportunity to have a break from my own cars and check out Halls Gap and the Grampians as I haven't been there before.
A good result to successfully get your S-Type back on the road after 10 months as it must have been difficult without your only means of transport.
The BCM I fitted seems to have cured most of your problems and the car starts very quickly even though it hasn't run for 10 months.
No DTC codes were found or pending.
Let me know when you have your tyre's fixed and you have a chance to test drive it as i could not test your problem with the cruise control.
It was a pleasure to help out a long time jaguar owner and save another jaguar from being parted out.

Default So far a good

Hi Jim

So far so good though it was only a trip to the shop
My tyres were delivered to me and fitted though the 2 new ones are not yet on either side front wheel
Returning from the shop I had an armful of stuff and inadverteny dropped my keys in the boot after disengaging the battery (boot button on dash inoperative)
RACV needed to retrieve via back seat

Again so grateful to you and your intimate knowledge of Jaguar mechanics
You should be employed by the company

Gav

Re "problem with the cruise control" I thought you'd directed me not to engage it?

Gavin
As I could not test your cruise control fault at the time of my visit my suggestion to not use the cruise control until you had tested out the car over a few days. This will give us confidence that your other problems have not resurfaced. If you are feeling confident to try your cruise control then i would only test it at very low speeds.
