I have searched for an answer to this question but I can't find a mention: -
I bought a genuine Jaguar dash cam, the installation notes say to reference TOPIX for specific model instructions with regard to trim removal.
I registered for TOPIX but, in addition to requiring police clearance, I need to show proof that I have completed a recognised course on how to work on high-voltage battery systems.
Do members know if there is a workaround for this?
You will need to buy 'time' on TOPIx to access that level of information. There is very little available on the system without paying. The X260 Workshop Manual is over 12000 pages in PDF:
I paid for one day access and downloaded the specification (Build Sheet) and Workshop Manuals for my vehicles. If you post the question in X260 forum, one of the members with that model Workshop Manual may already have the information you need.
Thanks for responding. I don't mind paying for access. I registered for TOPIX and got the following, somewhat strange response. I does seem a bit over the top that I need a Police Check Certificate to remove the C pillar cover. Probably need to sign the Official Secret Act if I need to change the oil ;-)
Probably got something to do with Australian Bureaucracy, I might try a UK registration using a Proxy.
Cheers
MikeThank you for registering for access to TOPIx. In order to proceed with your application, please provide the following documentation in PDF format to JLRATECH@jaguarlandrover.com:
National Police Check Certificate obtained in the last 2 years
Training Evidence that demonstrates competency in safely depowering, isolating and re-initialising a high voltage battery installed in a scheme vehicle & that is provided by a scheme RTO or provided by, or on behalf of, a manufacturer of one of those systems or a scheme vehicle in which one of those systems is installed.
I thought that was just being humorous. I never imagined it was genuine!
My registration is with genuine UK details but I have had it continuously for several years so the bureaucracy could have changed universally and not just for Australia. TOPIx has certainly become more restrictive in the amount of freely available data. For example, Build Sheets used to free but now require time purchase to access.
