Calling all Toronto-Area Jag's, 2013 meets!
#42
I kind of gave up on getting some jag guys out due to low response,
Would someone be interested in trying again in the next few weeks?
Usual format, meet over coffee on a weekend morning, followed by an exciting drive through the countryside,
Let me know,
Attention: 07+ XKR and XFR owners, I have a special event going this Saturday morning, August 24th,
Please contact me if you're interested in joining a fun event,

I am really enthused about attending one of these informal meets and really appreciate the effort made to get people, and their respective cars, out. However, it seems to me that bit more notice of events is in order, especially in the summer, as being made aware of events at the last minute (or a day or two beforehand) simply makes them very inaccessible due to prior commitments. I have not attended one, but sure look forward to the opportunity and try to keep monitoring this thread for any news and updates.
British Car Day is coming up on Sunday Sept.15 at Bronte Creek Park in Oakville. I hope to see/meet more of us local forum members there

Hi Roonie, I agree with you, last minute is not acceptable;
With that said, the few meets&cruises I've done with the Jag guys have all been planned and communicated well in advance,
I try to accommodate everyone, so feedback on scheduling is always welcome from anyone,
The first meet and cruise was well planned, only a few showed. Been trying to find an opportunity to plan the next one for us,
I threw out that invite in my previous post last minute as I was going to a non-jag event, that may have been of interest to others here,
From todays cruise,
- - - -
The british car day on Sunday September 15th sounds like a great opportunity to rally some the troops,
Here is what I am planning,
Have everyone meet over coffee at 401/Hurontario area in the morning,
Then go on a scenic cruise together along a pre-determined route with the destination being the show in Bronte Creek Park,
Meet for 10am, Arrive at the park by noon,

As I'm planning on showing my car at BCD, I need the time for prep before the show and regretfully won't be able to participate in any pre-show activity. But I hope to see you all there...in numbers! I remain enthusiastic about any future planned events.

Voting closes 1pm,

What time do you think you'll be getting in? Closer to 8am or 10?

Hey GT, I have been up to my neck in busy lately but I will make the British Car day event. Two things though, first I will not be in a Jag this time. I MIGHT have MrsV12 take the MK 10 just because I know that we will have the only one there. But I will be certainly taking the Daimler because I need to meet with Daimler people and I need to get maintenance info.
Like for example who in the Toronto area can work on a pre-selector transmission...etc.
Anyway, I would not plan a scenic cruise before the event. If you are not there by 9 or 10 AM you will see massive lines and frustration for parking. This is the single largest Brit car event in North America as far as I know. So best be up early meet and make a bee line for the entrance.
See you there though.
DG!

Rick, if want to display your car at the show, you will have to enter through the show-car gate, and pay the $20 registration fee,
Otherwise, you may arrive at any time, enter through the main gate, and park in the public lot along with all the visitors, and walk the park from there. General admission would then be $16 per car,
