Default Audi allroad trade for xjr

hi Everyone,
I received a notification that Dennis sold or traded his Jaguar before I made up my mind about it all. I still have my Audi and I may keep it for safer winter driving. The snow, as all good Canadians know, is one metre high in January!
Thank to everyone for their input.
James

Paul here from Vancouver. Just bounced into the Canadian section albeit I pretty much like to peruse the whole of the Jaguar Forum.

For members in BC and Alberta (and perhaps beyond): if you have never taken your Jaguar to Victoria for Jaguars on the Island ("JOTI"), then you have missed the largest Jaguar show in North America (and it includes a JCNA concours). This year it will be on the weekend of July 22-24. Cars from as far away as San Diego, Calgary and elsewhere. Every Jaguar is welcome! info at the website of the Jaguar Car Club of Victoria: jaguarcarclub.ca

Looking forward to getting to know the forum and meeting new friends.

Beautiful car. Great colour and exotic lines. New to forum as I have a 2016 XF AWD Prestige which is my daily driver.

I always say I don't speed just don't have to slow down for the corners in my Jag.

Get a radar detector , I only had one red car but I got a lot of speeding tickets, they see a red car coming for miles. Got one ticket in second gear . Cops around the corner.

Its a Jag , I wouldn't risk it and it burns clean, good for your engine. In UK in May this year and the regular fuel is 95 Octane. Costs twice what we pay but you can't buy anything less than 95 Octane. Do we get screwed or what . I only use premium octane in Calgary can't get better and its only 94 Octane. Europe you can get 98 Octane. If it was and American car engine I would use regular no point to spend more if it runs on regular but your Jag , feed it the good stuff.

So pleased there is a Canadian Forum group. Good to know where the Jags are in Canada and can stay in touch. Good group from what i have read. Lots of variety.

Hi Bluenose, I drove down Margarets cove its very pretty. Lots of photos of it. Nice roads to drive on. First time I was in Halifax we went to Lunnenberg, They were re-masting Bluenose two at the time. Was very lucky to see it. Enjoy the weather in US. Lots of good old Canadian weather waiting for you on your return.

Raybern motors in Calgary is the guy I entrust my car to when my 2008 was out of warranty.
Otto is the owners name only works on european cars mostly high end but prices are good.

Sandy-

Unless you've quoted the message you're replying to, it's not at all obvious whom you're addressing.

Note that North America and essentially the rest of the world use different octane rating scales. Our 94 octane in Canada is the same rating as 98 in the UK, so we're not 'getting screwed'.

Sorry Mikey,
Just getting used to how this works I will check the little box in future. The response about Octane was to the lad who was going to run his Jag on regular. Hate to disagree with you but Octane is a rating related to the energy produced. It is the same world wide . Would any one else like to agree or disagree about Octane ratings.

Octane ratings- Please read and digest

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octane...rement_methods

We use AKI in North America which is (RON+ MON)/2.

Europe and the UK use RON. The usual rule of thumb conversion between the two is a difference of four. Our AKI 94 is ~ the same as RON 98.

Hi Mikey
I stand corrected. I had no idea that fuel was tested in different ways. It does not make sense to me why but I guess they do. Defeats the purpose to me when they call it Octane rating and its different, definitely causes confusion, as I was. XFRS is supercharged so thank god I have no choice but to use Super. I know you answered but I'm new to this and cannot find the thread.
I will get the hang of it and hope I have not offended anyone with improper replies.
