Default Finally! (Hamilton on)

Last summer I rushed into a purchase of a pretty rough looking red XJS 1984, V12

I drove it the length of the 407 to my home, pretty fun ride!

It spent the winter under a nice tarp, with a solar trickle charger going to the batteries. I haven't had it on the road much, I called this thread 'FINALLY' because I just now, got around to ordering a new alternator for it, since thats the (main) problem with it.

Ultimately, I want to get another XJS (in better body condition) and use this one for parts. But in the mean time, there's no reason it shouldn't safety and become a road going car again. This way I can start learning about Jags as I go along.

So there she is. A little rough around the edges. I have an '03 Merc Marauder for sale if anyone wants to help out.

I might part this one out, since I plan on pulling the engine out and finding a same year model with a better body.

Who's in the Hamilton Area that can do Jag stuff at good prices?

It looks pretty nice from the pics. Is there rust?

Yeah, underneath it's ugly. And the interior is pretty horrendous. I originally thought I would gut the interior and do a spartan rally inspired feel. But then it occurred to me to just find another Jag with a nicer body and interior and use this one as parts. The engine is beautiful, low mileage, and well maintained.

At least the paint looks nice. I looked at a car identical to mine on the weekend. It was Burgundy and going cheap because of a coolant leak. Unfortunately the paint was badly faded.

Default Nice

Beautiful car! I am in the hammer as well, and have an 85 V12 Vanden Plas. I get my service done at a buddy's shop in Oakville. Never been disappointed with his work, have fun with the car!
