Default NAS Sensor Connector

For the last year or so I have had problems with my short term and long term fuel trim giving me codes P0172 and P0175. The car was running rich so my fuel trims were very negative, in the range of stft = -25. Ltft= -18, etc. I thought I had finally got them back in the normal range and watching them with “Torque” they look good for better than 1000 miles. A few weeks ago the check engine light came on and the codes had returned. While checking the engine while watching the readings on my phone, I touch the MAS sensor connector and the trims jumped back to normal. Removed the connector cleaned the contacts and tighten the contacts and reinstalled the connector. I have not had a problem since.

I did however find a replacement connector for the mas connector. They have them with just the shell to one made up with a pigtail. I order one and tried it on an old MAS sensor I had laying around and it fit perfectly. I haven’t used it as I have had no problems yet.

The other thing I learned was “Torque” can be used as a nice tool for finding electrical connection problems. Look at the reading that are giving you problems and moving the connectors, see if the reading change. Not sure I would have found the the connector issue near as fast as I did without watching the readings.
Just thought I’d share this for what it’s worth.
