In Victoria BC, Jul 28, Jaguars on the Island, the largest annual Jaguar show in North America. Your Jag is begging to be there...details at www.jaguarcarclub.ca.
My 1966 Mk 2 among the cats at JOTI.
Thanks George - it is always a good event and remarkably, the weather has always been excellent so we hope that holds for this year as well. Victoria is a "destination city" so visitors to JOTI always find it a worthwhile trip.
Your MK2 looks oddly like-----my son's 340 (JK). What I am really wondering about is I thought your car had AC as does his. His outlet vents are very visible but I do not see yours--how so?
Great photo of two lovely cars! In answer, yes, my car does have AC, installed originally by the selling dealer in 1966 (Motor Sales, Winnipeg, Manitoba). Winnipeg has brutally hot summers so the AC would have been a very desirable accessory - and there is no intrusion on the trunk space - everything is at the front end of the car. The fan unit is under-dash mounted; the compressor is the original York compressor and the car has the original inner fender depression to allow for the compressor -I think we talked about this some years ago and I had a photo of that depression but I'll have to search for it. The car has just under 26,000 original miles on it and I have had it since it had 16,000 documented miles. The AC works well although it can freeze the passenger's kneecaps!
I bet it does get the knees! We are very hot here and I think we did discuss some of this before. I think dealers could buy parts of kits and the York would have been available everywhere. Not sure if you saw a pic of a rear air but here you go! I think you will agree this is the best color for our cars!
