Default Static...solution please

STATIC
Hi
I polish my car (dark blue) with Autoglym SRP, buff up using microfibre...so far so good
5 minutes later there is a film of dust all over.
Is it AG or MF? or does this happen to you all whatever you use?

and the solution is?

after all these years, I should know....but I don't lol

Default Static build up

A low humidity environment or rubbing a paint surface with a Microfiber towel (Polyester /Polyamide) will induce a static charge.

Using a quick detailer after polishing will help to neutralize any static electricity build up, water is a natural static neutralizer Quick detailers are mostly water plus ingredients that provide lubrication, gloss, slickness, shine and in some cases, protection

Use a 1:20 Optimum No-Rinse (ONR) / distilled water solution in a fine mist spray bottle. The surfactants it contains encapsulate and trap dry surface dust, pollen or light dirt particles making them virtually non-abrasive and it can be used without causing scratches. Apply with a long nap micro fibre towel using very little surface pressure, dusting with long strokes in one direction only

Finish Kare 425 Spray Detailer inhibits dust attraction with a blend of polymer resins, UV Inhibitors, mild cleaners and patented Anti-Static agents. It won't be totally dust free, but significantly cleaner. Spray and wipe to obtain a clean, shiny, slick, and protected paint that resists dust

Thanks for the response.
Please clarify....are you suggesting I use Finish Kare 425 OR ONR?
FinishKare #425 - Ultra Slick Polywipe - Clean Your Car

Dilute, or does it come diluted.

Cheers

Hi
Not sure I worded this well.
What I meant was 'is it sufficient to use Finish Kare 425 on its own, or do you favour ONR?' (diluted 1:20)

The FK425 seems a 'buy and use' product and the text says 'anti static' but I will be guided by your comments.

Many thanks for your advice.

Brian

I stumbled across this product called "Extreme Slick Synthetic Detailer" which may solve the issue as it reduces static. Please let us know how it worked if you decide to try it.

Here is a link: Chemical Guys WAC_116_16 - Extreme Slick Synthetic Detailer (16 oz)
