Hey Phil, the car looks awesome man.
Did a fantastic job on it. How close did you liase with Mathew on the .co.uk site?
That guy is just the bees knees.
What was the damage for the 9 hours then Phil?
Jim
Good Morning,
I did liase with Mathew a little, a few emails back and forward etc. I wanted to find someone that would do almost what he would do. You will appreciate this as a Scotsman...LOL. The whole thing cost $225....which at todays exchnage rate is just over a Hundred quid....
Cant beat that.
Phil

LOL...I just looked at that photo for like a minute and a half...dumbfounded until I realized that was the reflection. I thought there was like a piece of the car on the ground or something.
I believe florida phil gets the award for nicest Jaguar on this forum...unless anyone can beat a brand new XKR

I went on the zymol website, anyone used these products without paying someone to detail it. There wax is 50 dollars, and if me waxing my own car with that stuff came anywhere close to as nice as phil's whip came out, then it's worth 50 bucks. Also they sell like 15 dollar car wash stuff, and it says that won't take the wax off. Phil you out to know, if I waxed this on my own with zymol, would I need to use there car wash to not take off the zymol wax right away with the cheap stuff.

Hey Phil, thats an unbelievable price.
I was chatting to Mathew and he said for the sorta mid range detail doing very similar was around £270 over here.
Don't get me wrong, worth every single penny, but all things being equal I'd rather pay £100....lol

I think you will be fine with most car wash stuff, Matthew might be able to confirm or deny. If I was still in the UK, I would not be paying those prices, but this stuff is pretty cheap here in LA LA land. I spent $200 (100 quid) this week on Ebay and bought loads of Zymol stuff, 2 tubs of Titanium, 2 car was, 2 quick detail.plus loads of MF towels and alplicators, of yes, the HD cleanse as well. I spent all day watching and learning Todd who did the detail, I think that as long as your paint is pretty clean in the first place and you use the HD cleanse, followed by the Titanium, you will be more than pleased with the results......I consider myself lucky to have found Todd from Tropical Detailing. 2 of my friends have already booked him for next week after seeing my car.........only bloody problem is, its July and it rains every afternoon here. I dont want to take it out of the garage.

C'mon Phil..........You know you soo wanna take her out n show her off......get all those admiring glances.

Then again......You know she's only gonna get dirty.[&:]
Man..............decisions decisions......lol

Phil you should take your car to the race track...lol
NOt only would you have a nicer looking car than everyone there, but I'd be shocked if any car could even take you out.

I saw the zymol cleaner wax for 13 bucks at target today, is that actually better than most regula awx's, like turtle wax or mcguires.
If I really want a good wax job will that be good enough, or is there a huge difference when you buy the like 43 dollar zymol stuff.

I think I will try it the next time I wax. I saw a 92$ zymol wax today at Car BOutique made specifically for Jaguar. It was like a dark blue wax in that little tin. They had the 43 dollar stuff too. Wouldnt waste my money on that considering my car is usually outside
Just waxed my car with Zymol Cleaner Wax.
It wasn't as good as I hoped, worked about as good as the Turtle Wax I used last time that only cost 6 bucks compared to 13.
It reflected water pretty good tho, I'll see how long it lasts for. The turtle wax was good for like 4.5 months.
