I had never opened the rear door. Was in a dark garage looking for the button. Mistook the backup camera for the button and pushed on it. The camera went inside the compartment. Is there a way I can try and get it out? The thing still works but has one side obscured by the plastic.

 

The trim that holds the switch and camera comes out with a light touch with a wedge. Dont be surprised if the trim piece or the camera clip is broken. Seen it before.

• Release the tailgate open switch.

• Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors.

Have you fixed it meanwhile by yourself or you let the garage do the job ? My mother pushed yesterday the camera inside too :s But I want to try it by myself first.
