Default 66 series 1 coupe - will I fit

Hi guys

I haven't posted over here before. I have been a long time lover of the Es and I am considering taking the leap and buying one. I would love a convertible and I know I fit and can drive them, but i already have and F Type convertible so don't really need another, and I also don't want to spend convertible money. Unfortunately I have never been inside a coupe before and don't have access to one to try.

I have my eye on a 66 series one 4.2 2+2 coupe but it is a bit of a distance from me so would like you thoughts on whether a solidly built 6'3" man is likely to be able to fit in and drive one without going crazy.

I'm 5'9" and can't get comfortable in a standard wheelbase E-type so my first thought would be "no way" for an over-6-footer.

But, the 2+2 is 9" longer and 2"-3" taller....so you might be OK

Let's hear what others say

Cheers
DD

I highly recommend going to a British car show before pulling the trigger on an E-type. Talk to several owners, see if you can sit in a coupe, and a 2+2. I did that three years ago and decided that a 2+2 was a good fit. The shorter coupe was so tight I has trouble getting back out of the seat. I'm 6'1"

As I worked on these Es thru the years, I was able to know which ones I could use on a daily basis. I was 6'3" and found the windscreen was right at eye level. The later E-Type V-12 was some improvement, but the most comfortable E for sight was the Coupe and 2+2. The top of the windscreen was taller and made for better vision. You will fit them all, but check the where you have to see. Holding your head to the side or ducking gets tired after a while of driving.

Thanks all.

Sounds like it is worth checking out the 2+2.
