I'm looking for a new or used metal clip (3 inches long?) that links / ties the plastic louvers together within a V12 E-Type AC vent louver assembly. Can anybody help me?

Mine fell into my AC unit housing so my second option is to take it about to fetch the clip. Is it possible to just remove the front of the AC unit to get into it to fetch the clip?

Yes, pulling the front off the SIII AC unit would be the best way to retrieve you piece. There are a few screws and IIRC, a couple of plastic push in pins that hold on the entire front bezel where the louvers are located. When I had mine out of the car during the rebuild, I took it apart for cleaning and a fresh coat of wrinkle paint. Not that difficult, you just have to look close to find the screws.
